Fish is a landmark in Port Olimpica, Spain. In the Catalan language it’s known as Peix. This sculpture sits at the base of one of the tallest buildings in Spain, Hotel Arts.

Renowned architect Frank O. Gehry was commissioned to build the piece of art for the 1992 Summer Olympics, which were held in Barcelona. The sculpture is made of steel, stone, and glass, and has a shimmery copper color in the sun.

Our favorite time to photograph this landmark is during the hour prior to sunset, when Fish glows in the golden light. Our favorite spot to photograph this from is along the beach, walking toward Barcelona. You’ll find several great views, if you keep glancing behind you as you walk.

Our first photo was taken with a standard zoom lens, but as we walked down the beach, we moved to a longer lens.
