Nikon has announced the release of a Silver Edition of the full-frame Nike Z f mirrorless camera, a model that has quickly become a favorite among photographers who want the look of a classic film body with the performance of modern digital technology.

For travel photographers, the Z f Silver Edition delivers not only full-frame image quality in a compact package, but also an aesthetic nod to Nikon’s film heritage. The new edition features a metallic silver finish reminiscent of vintage Nikon cameras like the Nikon F — perfect for those who love gear that’s as stylish as it is powerful.

Built for Creatives on the Move

The Z f is lightweight enough for travel, but carries Nikon’s advanced Z mount system, ensuring compatibility with a growing lineup of NIKKOR Z lenses. Its manual dials for shutter speed, ISO, and exposure compensation echo the tactile feel of film cameras. Users can also enable the satisfying click of the mechanical shutter—a tactile cue that resonates with travel photographers who enjoy slowing down and being intentional with their images.

Six Distinct Color Options for Personal Expression

Beyond the standard silver finish, Nikon is also introducing three new Premium Exterior color options — Cognac Brown, Teal Blue, and Mauve Pink — each with a textured, embossed surface. Combined with existing options in Moss Green, Stone Gray and Sepia Brown, photographers now have six ways to customize their Z f to reflect their personal style.

This thoughtful design touch means your camera won’t just be a tool — it becomes part of your travel identity.

Film Grain for a Classic Travel Look

A firmware update scheduled for release within 2025 will bring a new Film Grain feature, letting photographers add authentic grain to stills and video. With three grain size options and six strength levels, the Z f can recreate the texture of travel film photography without ever loading a roll of film. Paired with Nikon’s downloadable Imaging Recipes and Picture Controls, you can craft film-inspired looks on the road — ideal for storytelling through images.

Price and Availability

The Nikon Z f Silver Edition will be available in late September for a suggested retail price of $2,199.95. Premium color variations will be priced at $2,299.95.

For those ready to add the Z f to their travel kit, it’s available for pre-order now:
